Mike,

No one debates that the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation. The issue is whether or not speaking in tongues is the evidence of having received Him.In three passages (Acts 2, Acts 10, Acts 19) tongues accompanied the infilling of the Holy Spirit. That isn't surprising, since tongues is a gift of the Spirit, and the gifts will be present wherever the Spirit is active (note how in Acts 19 prophecy was also present). There are other passages, such as Acts 8, where tongues does not accompany the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

In Christ,
- Josh S.

why am i here....just another "prophet" who has seen the truth and is seeking to start his own movement... Acts 3:19-23;

Act 11:14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
Act 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Act 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Notice verse 14? It is how they were saved...you need to repent, and your rebellion is not manifesting in a beard, it is manifesting in rebellion against the word of truth...

Col.3:17Baptism is a deed surely not word. It is an action.It must be in his name.If jailer just believed and thats it what about repent.He was baptized one hour later.Acts2 what shall we do?REPENT,BAPTIZE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST NOT TITLES(AWESOME)Mark16:16 I wouldn't waste my time on other so called versions and say "probably this was not in the original.They have taken out the blood and etc. in other versions.Matt.28 does not contradict Acts2 when you know who Jesus isIsaiah9:6Everlasting Father(Jesus)SonofGod(Jesus)Holy Ghost(Jesus spirit in us)Apostles obeyed Matt.28.Revealed by alot of studying11Tim2:15.Study dropped from new versions.Matt.&Acts baptism a command and very important.
