Concerning the wearing of Jewlery,
Ezkekiel 16:6- Was a prohpecy that was given by God for the people..In the book of Exodus God had already told his people to take off the ornaments..because of what they represented..they would dress them selves up in these ornaments and jewlery and would worship Idol gods, they had learned to practice Idolatry, While they were in bondage, in Egypt..(In sin) God told Moses to tell his people to take of thier ornaments....
There is one thing about God when ever he takes anything out of you life..he always replaces it with something else..
Therfore we must always remember that God is a "spirit" and he never deals in the "flesh" everything he does is "spirtiual" When we God takes sin out of our lives he replaces it with the "Holy Ghost" which give us Authority over "sin"..and we all know that the old testiment a type and shadow for our "learning and admonition"....
To get to my point..Ezekiel16..God is prophesying through the prophet.... This passage is a passage of judgment..Everything that God says here is Spiritual...It was never "Natural" God never contradicts himselfe..Why would God tell them to take off thier ornaments in Exodus..and them allow them to put it back on?
God was speaking to his people in the "spirit" The ornaments were not "physical" ornamentation..But he was reminding them from where he had brought them.. When God speaks of them being polluted in their own blood he was refering to sin not "Physical" blood... (blood=sin)...God had replaced everthing that he had taking away from them "THAT WAS NOT PLEASING TO HIM"...And had replaced them with....Spiritual jewels..and linens..ect.. For every ornament that God had given them..it represented spritual gifts, God even called his people ornaments..in vs. 7...
But God had to juge the people because of thier disobedience. The reason for this is because the people are like we are to day, And we still have the same spirit as the children of Israel had in, Exodus 33:5(stiffnecked)..... Therefore God had to use those same "things" jewlery and ornaments, that had his people bound in Idolatry and witchcraft....as an example, because that is what is what they could relate to...The very thing that "satan" used to bound them is what God used to make them free....even today we are still peircing our bodies putting jewlery in them..toungs peircings.. it is a sign of rebelion and wicthcraft..Is God please with this?.. Satan knows that this is something that God hates so therefore it is becoming more and more prominate..with our youth...Our bodies are his temple..
And there is one thing about God he never changes..... in the book of Ezek..God had not changed his mind about what he had told his people to do..in Exodus.. But instead as he did in (Isa16:10) but he replaced what he took from them and gave it them back to them in the spirit..Jacob understood..what God required..Even before the children of Isreal..He told the people to put away the strange gods that are among you, and be "CLEAN"..and change your "garments"..Why? they were going before God almighty..they gave Jacob thier strange gods and "ALL" thier earrings that was in thier ears....Jacob had to hide them...Why..so the people could not "GO BACK"...as we have today.

HI,
I must confess that I am a active and influential member of UPCJ. The J is for Jamaica. We here have gone further and impose other rule that I need your exegetical imput on.
1. The wearing og hats. Expensive in some cases.
2. The female processing the hair. That is females using some sort of chemical or curling iron to make their hair looks like a European for whatever reason. some noble reason I must hasten to say.

God bless.

As the Israelites were departing captivity in Egypt, they received jewelry and other tribute from the Egyptians, in accord with God's prophecy much earlier in Genesis. Although this jewelry was used in creating the golden calf, the wearing of the jewelry per se does not seem to have been forbidden by God.

Excellent answers.

Oh that I could remove my jewelry and remove my PRIDE issues. Wouldn't that be nice.

So I remove jewelry and "look" less prideful, only to gain pride in how much holier I am than I was. Oh Dear, Oh woeful woman am I? Who can save me from this body of death. It is Jesus Christ our Lord!

So it is the pride that has to go, so we can wear our jewelry (symbol of God's Blessings) with a thankful, humble heart!

I will end with a treasure that I found several years ago, in the Amplified Version. A study of the original Greek is also very liberating.

Col 2:18-23
18 Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen, vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his unspiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit,
19 And not holding fast to the Head, from Whom the entire body, supplied and knit together by means of its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.
20 If then you have died with Christ to material ways of looking at things and have escaped from the world's crude and elemental notions and teachings of externalism, why do you live as if you still belong to the world? [Why do you submit to rules and regulations? — such as]
21 Do not handle [this], Do not taste [that], Do not even touch [them],
22 Referring to things all of which perish with being used. To do this is to follow human precepts and doctrines. [Isa 29:13.]
23 Such [practices] have indeed the outward appearance [that popularly passes] for wisdom, in promoting self-imposed rigor of devotion and delight in self-humiliation and severity of discipline of the body, but they are of no value in checking the indulgence of the flesh (the lower nature). [Instead, they do not honor God but serve only to indulge the flesh.]
